November 11th, 2007 Split Rock to Big Eddy
Kyle Landwehrle, his father Paul and friend Shomari
Anderson went for a paddle on the Skykomish river. A
mear 2 hr drive from Olympia, the river proved to be well
worth it.
They chose the Split Rock to Big Eddy section due to
their skill level. The river was running at a perfect
flow for what they wanted. A Class II/III as rated by
American Whitewater, they were in for a treat. Kyle
has paddled up to class IV rivers during his career as a
paddler. While Shomari has a few class Vs under his
belt and Paul had a number of Class IIs under his.
All in all they had a successful trip...
Kyle worked on his cartweels, Paul solidified his combat
roll, and Shomari got out and had some fun. |
