White Pass Nordic
Center
Shannon Haley
and Russ Gilsdorf spent the better part of the day cross
county skiing on perfect groomed tracks at White Pass.
We debated on Friday night if we should go or not because of
the rain and high winds in Olympia. Shannon
eventually made the call, so off we went.
The roads were clear, the weather was beautiful and the snow
was as good as it gets for track skiing. The sun
poked through the clouds a few times, it snowed lightly most
of the day and there was no wind. Who would have
guessed the weather would have been so good up in the
mountains while it was so bad in Olympia. I
suppose there is a 6th sense you have when you are born in
the PNW those of us that moved here will never have. |
